As CEO and Fund Manager, Rabih has had more than 13 years of experience in trading, risk management and market-making. After graduating with Finance and Economics from Macquarie University, he began managing the currency risk of corporate clients as a Corporate FX Dealer. He then went on to set up and run the institutional trading desk at Bit Trade in his capacity of Head of Trading which was subsequently acquired by Kraken. Most recently, Rabih, in his role as Chief Investment Officer, headed research and investments at Fortem Wealth, a national share advisory firm in Sydney. Throughout his career, he has been developing and fine-tuning technical and statistical trading models that are currently being deployed at Alpha Point Capital.

Anthony has been involved in the financial services, asset management and alternative investment industry since 2000. Based in the Cayman Islands, he has travelled extensively and conducted business in major financial hubs across the globe. Anthony founded Incu Global Ltd, a global multi-family office and fund incubation platform. Prior to this, he was a Managing Director at Apex Investment Consulting & Fund Services, an independent and privately-owned fund advisory firm. At the time of his exit, Apex was working with over 1200 funds globally, which altogether had an estimated USD40b in assets under management.
Anthony has over 20 years of experience in roles across asset management and board directorship. His early years began at New York’s Credit Suisse and Hong Kong’s TPG Capital covering Australia, New Zealand and Greater China, followed by Gandhara Capital, a US$3b hedge fund. In 2009, he founded his own hedge fund, Pangu Capital Limited as a Type 9 Responsible Officer, and CEO, Risk, Compliance and Portfolio Manager. After 6 years, he joined London’s Visium Asset Management as Portfolio Manager. In 2017, he became Head of Global Equities at a Singapore-based family office, before joining Solas in 2019.
As the head of Quantitative Development at Alpha Point Capital, Darran oversees the firm’s technology and operations function and heads up the development of strategy algorithms at the firm. Prior to joining Alpha Point Capital, Darran spent 2 years as a Web Developer before delving into Penetration Testing, where he has conducted countless security assessments and secure code reviews on IT systems for global clients over the space of 5 years. Darran currently holds a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Adelaide and a Master of Management and Finance from the University of Melbourne.
Alireza attained his PhD in physical chemistry in 2018. In 2015 he was awarded the IPRS scholarship by the Australian government. During this time, he has worked and collaborated on several scientific projects where he employed his mathematical and statistical knowledge to solve complex challenges ranging from classical to quantum mechanical problems. He has also used Machine Learning techniques to turn data into the scientific interpretation. Alireza's work has been cited and published in several prestigious national and international journals, such as the Advances in Materials Science and Engineering Journal.
Wei Hong is a self-motivated problem solver tackling some of the most difficult challenges in the financial markets.
He has a strong scientific background having graduated from the University of New South Wales with a high-distinction average in his Bachelor of Computer Science. Additionally, he received the 2017 Faculty of Engineering Dean’s Award and the 2016 Atlassian COMP1927 Prize for developing complex algorithms that put his extensive scientific knowledge into practice.
As a Quantitative Researcher, Zhizhong applies cutting edge theories and technologies from mathematics, Statistical Learning, data science and Signal Processing to the financial markets. Prior to joining Alpha Point Capital, Zhizhong had experience analysing portfolio risk and performance at Victorian Funds Management Corporation. He also spent 3 years as an Image & Signal Processing Engineer and 4 years doing research in Image Retrieval and Compression. Zhizhong holds a Masters by Research in Computer Vision from the University of Sheffield, a Masters of Financial Mathematics from Monash University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from Southeast University.
Lachlan works as the Business Development Manager applying his expertise and skills acquired through his double major in Economics and Finance at the University of Wollongong. He draws from his years in funds and portfolio management, having successfully managed and serviced affluent individuals over many years. He also has extensive experience managing a trading floor at a share advisory firm in Sydney. He holds an RG146 Qualification, enabling him to provide general advice on equities and derivatives. Lachlan has been a part of two startup companies that now have a global client in the media space. He also is an avid skier and has been a member of a Private Ski lodge for 21 years.
Harold has many years of experience trading in futures and FX markets, with a particular focus on identifying and exploiting global macro trends. Having had stockbroking and business development roles in the past, Harold prides himself on his honesty and integrity and is well equipped to service clients and build long-lasting relationships with investors. Harold holds a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering, majoring in business administration. His passion for finance will bring value to the Alpha Point Capital team and its investors.
